Virginia "Gin" was born Dec. 16, 1939, in Pickardville, on their family farm. She was the youngest of five children born to John and Gladys Coombs. She graduated high school in South Dakota. Clayton Bennett and Gin were married Aug. 23, 1958, in McClusky. They had three children, Sheldon, Tracy and Steven. Clayton passed away in 1976. After working many years at Sheridan Retirement Home, she left and moved to Minnesota. Gin married O.D. Rhoads Sept. 6, 1991. After spending 15 years there, they retired and moved to McClusky in 2005. She is survived by husband, O.D. Rhoads; daughter, Tracy (Kent) Gerk, Julesburg, Colo., and their children, Alex, Haley, John and Jack; two sons, Sheldon Bennett, McClusky, and Steven Bennett, Farmington, Minn., and his son, Aaron; six stepchildren; and many grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Betty Rogers; brother, Chet Coombs; and infant daughter, Sheila Bennett.
