Description	:	Mrs. Virginia Christine Gauldin Salmons, 73, of Winston-Salem, NC went to be with her Lord at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born in Rockingham County to the late Robert Bruce Gauldin and Sally Hall Gauldin. Mrs. Salmons was the retired owner of Salem Jewelers and was a member of Konnoak Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Wesley Salmons and a sister Hazel Gauldin Edwards. She was born in Rockingham County to the late Robert Bruce Gauldin and Sally Hall Gauldin. Mrs. Salmons was the retired owner of Salem Jewelers and was a member of Konnoak Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Wesley Salmons and a sister Hazel Gauldin Edwards. Surviving are two daughters Bonnie Disher and husband Tommy Disher of Cascade, VA and Jane Craver and husband David Craver of Emerald Isle, NC, a son Edward Salmons and wife Sharon Salmons of Winston-Salem, three grandchildren Kristopher Salmons, Nicholas Salmons and Elizabeth Huey and husband Patrick Huey, three great-grand-children Michael, Kinzey and Linzey, a special nephew Jimmy Johnson and wife Karen Johnson, numerous other nieces and nephews, four sisters Eva Johnson and Clea Shope, both of Eden, Jan Mason and husband Ray Masonof Calabash, SC and Bea Winn of Roanoke, VA, many special friends in her Unity Class at Konnoak Baptist Church and devoted friends Kathleen McInvaille, Marie Lefler and Ginny Holcomb. Special thanks to the Forsyth Regional Cancer Center and the Ninth Floor West Tower at Forsyth Medical Center for the love, caring and compassionate care that they gave our Mother. The funeral service was conducted at Konnoak Baptist Church by Dr. Gary McCollough and Dr. Ray Hamilton. A graveside service was held at the Jones Family Cemetery in Cascade, VA.
