Description	:	Ms. Virginia Darlene Gaunt, 98, a longtime resident of Brown Avenue in Belington and more recently of Talbott Personal Care Home at Belington, departed this life early Thursday morning, April 13, 2017, in the care facility, following a period of declining health. She was born Feb. 12, 1919, at Barbour County, a daughter of the late James A. and Cora Findley Gaunt. She had never married and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was born Feb. 12, 1919, at Barbour County, a daughter of the late James A. and Cora Findley Gaunt. She had never married and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her special friend and caretaker of many years, Vea O’Brien of Belington; and two nieces, Doris Dick of Martinsburg and Ruth Mohr of Ft. Myers, Florida. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Katie Gaunt, Dessie Gaunt, Addie Goode and Nellie Gaunt; two brothers, James Gaunt and Earle Gaunt; one niece, Margaret Miller; and one nephew, Leon Goode. Virginia attended the schools of Barbour County and was a graduate of Belington High School and was a Protestant by faith. She was previously employed at Empire National Bank in Clarksburg from which she retired. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Friends will be received at Talbott Funeral, 56 N. Brandenburg St. in Belington Saturday April 15, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. with a graveside service to follow in Valley Bend Cemetery with Pastor Bryan Headley officiating.
