Description	:	Virginia Elizabeth Burton, 83, of Eggleston, departed this life Sunday morning March 22, 2009 after a long illness at Riverview Nursing Home in Rich Creek. Born in Hardy, Kentucky on May 8, 1925 she was a daughter of the late Giles Stewart and Sally Albert Burton. She was a member of Green Valley United Methodist Church near her home and was retired from the Celanese Plant at Narrows with forty-four years service. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers Frank Burton, Charlie Burton, and Wilmot Burton and a sister Freeda Rogers. She leaves to cherish her memory... Born in Hardy, Kentucky on May 8, 1925 she was a daughter of the late Giles Stewart and Sally Albert Burton. She was a member of Green Valley United Methodist Church near her home and was retired from the Celanese Plant at Narrows with forty-four years service. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers Frank Burton, Charlie Burton, and Wilmot Burton and a sister Freeda Rogers. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons Giles Burton of Eggleston and Darcy and his wife Altheia Tate Burton of Mechanicsville, VA; her grandchildren Christopher Lee Burton and his wife Carolyn and Julie Burton Moore and her husband Jason and a great-grandson James Moore. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 12:00 Noon at the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke. Interment will be private, at a later date, in the Walker Cemetery at Eggleston. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the services. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
