Description	:	Virginia E. Martin died Aug. 16, 1995, in Eureka at age 73. A native of Jane Lew, W. Va., she was a resident of Ferndale for the past 50 years. Virginia was raised in West Virginia and before coming to California she had worked in a glass blowing factory, where she hand-painted decorative glass. She is... Read More	Virginia E. Martin died Aug. 16, 1995, in Eureka at age 73. A native of Jane Lew, W. Va., she was a resident of Ferndale for the past 50 years. Virginia was raised in West Virginia and before coming to California she had worked in a glass blowing factory, where she hand-painted decorative glass. She also worked in Ferndale for the Old Golden State Creamery on Main Street as a butter canner. She was a member of SES Lodge of Ferndale and a member of the Assumption Catholic Church of Ferndale. She is survived by two daughters, Rita E. Martin of Redding and Janet A. Martin-Reed of Ferndale; two brothers, Archie Allman and Bayward Allman of Jane Lew, W. Va.; four sisters, Mrs. Nillie Bennett and Mrs. Beatrice Groves both of Buckhannon, W. Va.; Mrs. Annabel Davison of Jane Lew, W. Va., and Mrs. Mary Perkins of Parkersburg, W. Va.; three grandchildren, Jamie, Evan and Emily Reed; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joaquin "Jack " F. Martin, Jr., in 1990; brother Homer Allman; and sister Pauline Skinner. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at Assumption Church in Ferndale on Monday, Aug. 21, 1995, at 1 P.M., the Rev. Fr. Dennis Doyle the celebrant. Private interment will be at Sunrise Cemetery, Fortuna. Visitation will be held at Assumption Catholic Church in Ferndale on Monday Aug. 21, 1995, at noon. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Ferns- Citizens Mortuary, Ferndale. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Humboldt/Del Norte Unit, 2942 F.
