ELLIS DIED LAST NIGHT AT HER SON'S HOME Mrs. Virginia Ellis died last night at 11"30 o'clock at the home of her son, Lee Hulse at 360 Ouray avenue. Mrs. Ellis had been in failing health for about six months, only one of week of which she was bedfast. She was well known on the western slope, having made her home here and at Ouray for 28 years. The past five of six years, she made her home in the city with her son. Surviving her are her sons, Lee of this city and Leslie of Hollywood, and three stepsons, Walter Ellis of Ouray who is in the city, Ben and Charles Ellis of Washington, and a sister, Mrs. May Dark of Lee's Summit, Mo. ELLIS ON TUESDAY Resident of Slope for Past 28 Years; Was Ill For Only Short Time The funeral of Mrs Virginia Ellis will be held at the Martin chapel at 2 o'clock on Tuesday afternoon. Dr. George F. McDougall of the Presbyterian church will have charge of the service and burial will be in Orchard Mesa cemetery. Mrs. Ellis passed away at the home of her son Lee Hulse late Saturday night after a brief illness. she had made her home here for the past five or six years and previous to that time had resided at Ouray since 1903. Born in Warrensburg Missouri on October 8, 1862, Mrs. Ellis was 59 years of age Mr. Hulse, her first husband died 36 years ago and Mr. Ellis preceded her in death by four years and 13 days. Surviving her are her two sons Lee Huslse of this city and Leslie Hulse of Hollywood. California, three stepsons, Walter of Ouray, who is in the city and Ben and Charles, who reside in Washington. She is also survived by several grandchildren and a sister Mrs. May Dark of Lees Summit, Mo. Mrs. Ellis was a lovable woman and she had made many friends here and at Ouray in her 28 years of residence on the western slope. She will be greatly missed by a large circle of friends and relatives.
