"Ginnie" James, age 84, formerly of 214 Catherine Street, Union, SC, widow of William Frank James, Sr. died Sunday, October 22, 2006 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mrs. James was born in Union, S.C., September 27, 1922 , a daughter of the late Frank and Ramoth Frances Bailey Glass. She was a graduate of Union High School and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church where she served on the Altar Guild, Pastor-Parish Relation Committee, a Sunday School Teacher, and a member of the Circle of Hope. "Ginnie" James, age 84, formerly of 214 Catherine Street, Union, SC, widow of William Frank James, Sr. died Sunday, October 22, 2006 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mrs. James was born in Union, S.C., September 27, 1922 , a daughter of the late Frank and Ramoth Frances Bailey Glass. She was a graduate of Union High School and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church where she served on the Altar Guild, Pastor-Parish Relation Committee, a Sunday School Teacher, and a member of the Circle of Hope. Mrs. James was also a member of the Union Lioness Club, Union Jr. Charity League and helped to start "The Canteen" at Wallace Thomson Hospital. She was a homemaker, a loving mother and grandmother and an avid Bridge player. Survivors are; two sons: Dr. Bill James and wife Brenda of Spartanburg and Dr. Paul B. James and wife Julie of Seven Lakes, NC, two granddaughters: Alison James of Southern Pines, NC and Ann Marie James of Seven Lakes, NC, a grandson, William Frank "Tripp" James, III of Greenville and a sister Sara Glass Collier of Southern Pines, NC. Mrs. James was predeceased by three sisters and a brother: Marie Glass, Nettie Glass, Janie Glass Shetley and Billy Glass. Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, October 28, 2006 at Grace United Methodist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Gary Byrd. The following are asked to assemble at the cemetery at 1:45 PM Saturday to form the Honorary Escort: George " Pug" Tate, Jr., Jack Roper, Jr., Allan From, John Otten, Jack Rash, Paul Owen and Rob Bolin. The family will receive friends 10:00-12:00 Saturday morning at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home and also in the Women's Parlor of Grace United Methodist Church immediately following the service. Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 201 S. Church Street, Union, SC 29379.
