Description	:	Mrs. Virginia Haynes Carter, 81, of Longtown Road went to her heavenly home on Friday, May 9, 2003, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. She was born Dec. 3, 1921, in Yadkin County to the late Ulice Newt and Layla Isadore Haynes. Mrs. Carter was retired from the West Yadkin Elementary School cafeteria, was a member of Fall Creek Baptist Church, and had attended Longtown United Methodist Church for more than 40 years. Read More	Mrs. Virginia Haynes Carter, 81, of Longtown Road went to her heavenly home on Friday, May 9, 2003, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. She was born Dec. 3, 1921, in Yadkin County to the late Ulice Newt and Layla Isadore Haynes. Mrs. Carter was retired from the West Yadkin Elementary School cafeteria, was a member of Fall Creek Baptist Church, and had attended Longtown United Methodist Church for more than 40 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Surviving are her loving husband of 51 years, Coleman Carter, of the home; her daughter, Phyllis (Jim) Wilcox; and grandson, Adam Wilcox, of Boonville; two sisters, Vernie Renegar and Perlie Haynes, both of Jonesville; and a brother, Lester Haynes, of Jonesville. Mrs. Carter was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother to her family. She enjoyed shopping and working outdoors. Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday May 12, 2003, at the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. Daniel Outen. Burial will follow in the Longtown Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, May 11, 2003, at Gentry Family Funeral Service on Highway 601 North of Yadkinville. The family would like to give a special thank you to all the doctors on the Leukemia Team, the nurses at 9 Reynolds Tower; the Bone Marrow Transplant Team at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center; and especially to Dr. Julia Cruz at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
