Description	:	Virginia Ione Link, 78, of Loveland, died peacefully at home with her family at her side October 3, 2012. She was under the loving care of Banner Home Health and Pathways Hospice staff. Virginia was born March 1, 1934, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Delmar and Ethelyn Cresap, and was raised on the family farm near Altoona, Iowa. Virginia was born March 1, 1934, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Delmar and Ethelyn Cresap, and was raised on the family farm near Altoona, Iowa. Virginia graduated from Altoona High School and received her teaching certificate from the University of Northern Iowa in May 1954. She married Robert Wayne Link June 26, 1954. Virginia taught third grade in LeMars, Iowa, and enjoyed teaching Head Start in Butte, Montana and English as a Second Language in Castle Rock and Loveland. Continually improving her teaching skills, she attended colleges in the area. Virginia was the consummate preacher's wife maintaining six parsonages and was always ready with a smile, coffee and dessert at countless meetings. She taught Bible Study classes, Sunday School, worked with refugee families, started Bell Choirs, sang in the Chancel Choir, brought in over 300 new members to the Thornton Good Shepherd United Methodist Church as the Parish Visitor, and led Marriage Enrichment Workshops with Bob in Butte, Montana, Castle Rock, Thornton, Loveland and churches throughout Wyoming. Virginia was most proud of creating a Young Mother's Group in Loveland that grew to 55 members. Due to her work with the Young Mothers, she was nominated Colorado's "Mother of the Year" winning second place in the state contest. Virginia's adventurous spirit led to exploring the world. Bob and Virginia visited 33 countries, including a Pastor's Exchange to Chorley, England. She fulfilled her dream of becoming a missionary by traveling to mission stations in Africa, Indonesia, and Malaysia with Bishop Sano's Mission Team. In her retirement years, she was an active member of PEO, and served in elective offices of the United Methodist Women on the local, District and Conference levels. Rarely without a book in retirement, Virginia read over 600, with mysteries and inspirational books among her favorites. She will be missed by her friends of 50 years and their weekly game of Aggravation. She will be missed by her PEO Chapter, and her many friends from all of the churches she and Bob served. She will be missed by her neighbors of 17 years, with whom she shared her rose garden, grapes, apples and cherries from her orchard. She will be missed by her children and grandchildren, especially her famous Oyster Stew and Rosettes on Christmas Eve. But most of all she will be missed by her husband Bob for 63 years of love and devotion, listening to and laughing at his jokes and stories. Virginia is survived by her husband, Bob; her son, David (Sandi) and daughter, Denise; her grandchildren: Rachel, Emily, Davis Link, India, Noah, and Tanzy Halliburton-Link and Teddi and Jacki Patnoi, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Delmar and Ethelyn; her sister, Marilyn (Robert), and son, Daniel and his wife, Holley. Memorial contributions may be given to the First United Methodist Church of Loveland, Colorado in her name. There will be a grave-side service at the Altoona Cemetery at 4 p.m., on June 2, 2013.
