Harvey, 91, formerly of Sioux Falls, SD, died December 31, 2010, at her home in Ridgefield, WA surrounded by her loving daughters. At the time of her death, she was under the care of Southwest Washington Home Hospice staff. Virginia was born in 1919 in Sioux Falls to Joseph and Hazel (Allen) Glenn. She attended Whittier School and graduated from Washington High School. In 1952 she was united in marriage to Leamon (Lee) J. Harvey in Sioux Falls, where they made their home. Over the years, Virginia worked part-time at Shriver’s and Fantle’s department stores, as well as Lumberman’s Supply Company and Ross Lumber. She was an avid bowler and golfer, and was a member of Elmwood Ladies Thursday Morning 9-hole League for 47 years. She also enjoyed playing Bridge and Mahjongg with numerous Sioux Falls groups. Virginia’s life was her faith and her family. She will be remembered by her family as a devoted wife, loving mother, special grandmother and great grandmother. Those of us privileged to share her very special legacy of love and laughter are blessed beyond measure. She was preceded in death by Lee, her husband of 54 years; her parents, Joseph and Hazel Glenn; and her brother, Joseph (Jim) Glenn. Services will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church, where she was a lifelong member, on Friday, January 7th at 10:30am. Visitation with the family present will be from 5-7pm Thursday at Miller Funeral Home (507 S. Main).
