Description	:	Virginia Jeaniece Grosz Kepplinger, 81 of Scotland, passed away on Friday, June 16, 2017 at Avera Majestic Bluffs Hospice in Yankton. Visitation will occur on Sunday, June 18, at Goglin Funeral Home, Scotland, 5-7 pm followed by a short prayer service. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 19, 2 pm at Zion Lutheran Church, Scotland. Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery, Scotland. Virginia was born August 14, 1935 to Bernard and Frieda (Jerke) Grosz in Scotland, South Dakota. She was baptized on September 22, 1935 and confirmed in Dannewitz Church, Tripp, April 2, 1950. She attended Scotland schools and graduated in 1953. She immediately began her teaching career near Wagner, followed by many country schools including Kaylor, and completed her 40 years of teaching in Scotland. She graduated with a bachelors teaching degree by taking night classes and summer classes. She married Melvin Kepplinger, August 26, 1956. To this union a son, Bruce, was born. She belonged to Zion Lutheran Church, and volunteered many years on the Altar Guild and taught Sunday School. She was a member of PEO, Scotland and the Red Hats Society. Virginia's faith is what kept her strong and her life full. Jesus was her loving friend, and has welcomed her home. She loved to travel, whether it was to Germany or area bus trips with Melvin and new found friends. Virginia was always happy and had a smile to share with everyone. No one was a stranger to her, as she always found a common bond with everyone she met. She was a wonderful story teller and loved to visit with her friends and family. She loved visiting with past students that she forever treasured. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Melvin, Scotland, her son Bruce (Jerilyn), Scotland, her sisters, Ruth Shoumaker, Beresford, and Marlene Block, Tea, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers-in-law, Norbert Shoumaker, Marvin Schamber, and Bob Block. Memorial gifts will be used to further the work of Haase's Pink Ladies organization. - Goglin Funeral Home
