Born March 24, 1939, in Cherokee County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Ervin and Vyrle Virginia Byars. Mrs. Ellis was retired from Hoechst Fibers and of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Peggy Grainger and Helen Hampton; and brothers, Harry Byars, Jimmy Byars, and Donnie Byars. Visitation will be 10:30-11:45 AM Saturday, December 5, 2015, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 noon at the Chapel, conducted by her son, the Rev. Rick Bishop. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
