Description	:	Virginia Lee Patton Estes, 93, of Bryson City, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 7, 2013 surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of the late A.T. and Minnie Keener Patton. She was also preceded in death by her husband Jack Estes, by three brothers, Jack, Earl, and Albert Patton, and by three sisters, Ruth Osbourne, Dorothy Caldwell, and Kathleen Gibson. Virginia Estes is survived by two sons, Jim and his wife Karen Estes of Whittier; and Jerry and his wife Carol Estes of Bryson City; by a sister, Martha Patton Huggins of Chattanooga, TN; by six grandchildren, Brian Estes, Kristi Dunn, Jennifer Paquette, Dana Nott, Travis Estes and Jason Estes; by fifteen great grandchildren, Jona Estes, Caydon Estes, Hailey Dunn, Kolbey Dunn, Kennidi Dunn, Mayson Lee, Justin Lee, Samara Paquette, Seriann Paquette, Delaney Paquette, Norah Paquett, Bailey Nott, Jack Nott, Gavin Nott, and Owen Estes; and by many nieces and nephews. Virginia Estes was a member of the Bryson City United Methodist Church and a past president of the the Bryson City Woman's Club. For the past 70 years Virginia Estes enjoyed decorating for special events throughout Western North Carolina to include decorating the Governors' Western Residence, Unto These Hills, and hundreds of weddings. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2013, at 2:30 PM at the Bryson City United Methodist Church, with Rev. Wayne Dickert officiating. The family will receive friends at the church Sunday from 1 till 2:30 PM. Bryson City Funeral Home & Memorial Services is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be at Swain Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Scott Peterson, Don Peterson, Dickie Woodard, Davis Woodard, Sam Gibson, and Sandy Patton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Bryson City United Methodist Church, 76 Main Street, Bryson City, NC 28713.
