Obituary The Washington Star - January 19, 1969 Mrs. Virginia P. Wallace, 60, a Red Cross recreation supervisor, died yesterday at Walter Reed General Hospital after a long illness. She lived at 555 Thayer Ave., Silver Spring. She was the former Virginia Poole of Poolesville, which was founded by her ancestors. She was graduated from Maryland State Teachers College at Towson and taught school for several years in Somerset. In 1944 Mrs. Wallace joined the recreation staff of the Red Cross and had continued to work with the organization since. Her assignments included Army and Navy hospitals at Valley Forge, Ft. Belvoir, Quantico, Frankfurt, Germany; Bethesda naval Hospital and Walter Reed. She had been a volunteer supervisor for the Red Cross at Walter Reed since 1966. She leaves a step-daughter, Mrs. Bernard J. Faloney of Hamilton, Ontario. Her husband, William Wallace, died four months after they were married in 1953. Services will be at 12'30 p.m., Saturday at Joseph Gawler's Sons Funeral Home, Wisconsin Avenue and Harrison Street, NW, with burial in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville, Md. It is requested that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Poolesville.
