She was born April 11, 1919 in York, NE, to Vernon and Lora Inbody Read. She was raised on the family farm near Benedict, NE and later moved to Lorenzo, NE with her parents where she graduated from high school in 1939. Virginia moved from Carson City, NV to Grand Junction in 1985 and had then moved to La Veta, CO in 2009. Read More	Virginia Mae (Read) Eddy April 11, 1919 - October 10, 2011 Virginia Mae Read Eddy, age 92, passed away on October 10, 2011. She was born April 11, 1919 in York, NE, to Vernon and Lora Inbody Read. She was raised on the family farm near Benedict, NE and later moved to Lorenzo, NE with her parents where she graduated from high school in 1939. Virginia moved from Carson City, NV to Grand Junction in 1985 and had then moved to La Veta, CO in 2009. She is preceded in death by her parents; Kenneth, her husband of 55 years; sisters, Margaret, Doris, Charlotte and Lora Lee, and brothers, Burdette and Dexter. She is survived by her son, M. Lowell Eddy (Sandra) of La Veta, CO; grandsons, Greg (Joan), and Chris (Stephanie) Eddy; great-grandchildren, Sam, Grace, Jillian and Jordyn all of Fort Collins, CO. Virginia loved to play the piano, sew and travel. With Kenneth working for Chevron Oil, Texaco Oil, the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and Bonneville Power Administration over the years, she traveled and enjoyed seeing most of the United States. She was very proud to be a descendant of George Read, a signer of the Declaration of Independence from Delaware and Alexander Read, an officer in the Revolutionary War. Her grandfather, Lewis Inbody, of Iowa, fought in the Civil War. Pending graveside services are to be conducted by the Order of Eastern Star at Memorial Gardens in Grand Junction. Virginia was loved by many and will be missed by all those who knew her. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Association. Published in The Daily Sentinel on November 23, 2011
