Read More	Virginia Saunders Obituary The Madisonian, Virginia City, Montana, May 1984 Virginia Manley Saunders, 89, Ennis, passed away at the Madison County Nursing Home in Ennis on Saturday, May 19. Mrs. Saunders was born Oct. 4, 1894 at Morgantown, West Virginia. Her parents were Harrison and Sarah Anne Manley Southern (s/b James Rymer and Anne Manley Southern. Harrison and Sarah Manley were her grandparents (see marriage record)). She spent her childhood in Morgantown and graduated from the Mount DeChartal Finishing School at Wheeling, W. V. She came to Montana in 1915. March 5, 1916, she married William Millard Saunders at Jeffers. He died May 19, 1966. Mrs. Saunders lived in the Madison Valley the rest of her life. She was a long standing member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Jeffers, and served as organist there for many years. She was president of the Trinity Guild several times. The family had a ranch just south of Ennis. Survivors include daughters Betty Leipold of Billings and Louise Werner of Ennis; son, James Harrison Saunders of Ennis; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ellen Searle. Services were held Tuesday, May 22, at 2 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church in Jeffers with Rev. Richard Hicks officiating. Soloist was Faye Watkins and Organist, Jean Hansen. Selections were How Great Thou Art and Now The Day Is Over. Interment was in the Madison Valley Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jack Brooks, Bill Saunders, John Leipold, Gene Spangerud, Bob Pearson and Dave Skank. Memorials are preferred to the Trinity Episcopal Church in Jeffers.
