After his discharge from the Army in 1946, they farmed in the Monticello vicinity until moving to Albia in 1955. She graduated from the Ottumwa Beauty academy in 1961 and operated a beauty shop in Albia for several years. Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. John (Sandra) Ryan of Des Moines and Mrs. Michael (Sherelyn) Judge of Bettendorf; one son, Kim, of Burlington; six grandchildren. Also two brothers, Wesley G. Hanken of Sarosota, Fla. and David Hanken of Ridgefield, Ore. and one sister, Mrs. Robert Tymmer of Vancouver, Wash.
