Description	:	Virginia Maloley, 89, of rural Lexington, Nebraska, died Thursday, December 9, 2005. She was born July 24, 1916, at Scottsbluff, Nebraska, the first of 12 children to Thomas G. and Phyllis (Kourkouleis) Mouzes. Virginia grew up in the Bridgeport area and moved to Lexington in 1939. On December 12, 1943, she was united in marriage to Shibble Maloley in Lexington. The couple was blessed with three children, George, Mary Ann and Sara Lee and their foster son, Bill Ristov. She was born July 24, 1916, at Scottsbluff, Nebraska, the first of 12 children to Thomas G. and Phyllis (Kourkouleis) Mouzes. Virginia grew up in the Bridgeport area and moved to Lexington in 1939. On December 12, 1943, she was united in marriage to Shibble Maloley in Lexington. The couple was blessed with three children, George, Mary Ann and Sara Lee and their foster son, Bill Ristov. Her family always came first. As the first born Virginia was her father's right hand on the farm in the sugar beet fields. After marriage that tradition continued. She could be found milking cows, sewing clothes, helping her mother-in-law and sisters-in-law making bread for the entire Maloley clan. Many will remember the endless dinner parties held at their home for family and friends. Only after the family was raised and gone did Virginia go to work for Hollingsworth Motel and later as a perfect gift wrapper for Barmore Drug. Virginia enjoyed reading her Bible, which she read from cover to cover many times, although her first language was Greek, she read the English version, praying daily for her family and friends, crocheting and cooking. She was a member of St. George Eastern Orthodox Church in Kearney, Nebraska, and often attended the First United Methodist Church in Lexington. Virginia was always active and participated in the Elizabeth Circle Guild at Lexington and the St. George Ladies Society in Kearney. She was a member of the Grant Extension Club, Eastern Star and Tri-County Hospital Auxiliary, Mercury Club and was chairwoman of the Grant Precinct for many years. She also assisted with the Big-Little 4-H Club. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Shibble of Lexington; a son, George T. (Sharon) Maloley of Scottsdale, Arizona; daughters, Mary Ann (Edward) Nohalty of Merna, Nebraska, and Sara Lee Maloley of Omaha, Nebraska; grandchildren, Drucilla (Brett) Goldsmith of Phoenix, Arizona, Krista (Bob) Hannem of Bemidji, Minnesota, and Alexandria and Jason Nohalty of Merna, Nebraska; great-grandchildren, Madison and Cade Goldsmith of Phoenix, Arizona; adopted by love goddaughter, Shirley Ann (Harlan) Wells of Las Vegas, Nevada; foster son, Bill (Carol) Ristov of North Platte, Nebraska; grandchildren, Christopher and Mathew Hansen of Las Vegas, Nevada, William J. (Elizabeth) Ristov of Broken Bow, Nebraska, Jerome Ristov of Phoenix, Arizona, Terence and Natasha Ristov of Merna, and Anthony (Melia) Ristov and son of Broken Bow; great-grandchildren, Anya and Arri Ristov of Broken Bow; brother, Gus T. Mouzes of Hughson, California; and sisters, Helen Gekis of Santa Barbara, California, Esther McCreedy of Brighton, Michigan, Demetroula (Tulla) Manolakis of San Mateo, California, and Mary Ann Darros of Carmichael, California. She was preceded in death by her parents; a stillborn infant son, Norman; four sisters, one in infancy; and two brothers. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 15, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Lexington with Fathers Tom Begley, Don Hock, Philip Vreeland, Paul Hodge and Rev. Todd Karges co-officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are appreciated to be distributed at Virginia's request to her favorite charities. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is in charge of arrangements.
