She was born and attended school in Seattle, Wash. before moving to Tacoma, Wash., Portland, Ore., and settling in Medford, Ore. to raise her family with her husband Lee. She was born and attended school in Seattle, Wash. before moving to Tacoma, Wash., Portland, Ore., and settling in Medford, Ore. to raise her family with her husband Lee. While Lee served in the Army, Virginia worked as a clerk for the Sheriff's office, earning a deputy badge. She revisited her secretarial skills with the dietician's office at the Veterans Domiciliary in White City in order to help put her kids through college. She was a proud member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees after many years of public service. Virginia was an outstanding crafter. She enjoyed crocheting afghans, knitting, or making the occasional needlepoint or cross stitch. Her work was enjoyed by her family, friends, seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Virginia was the leader of the Bend branch of the Ziesmer clan for the past 12 years. She insisted on going all out in the kitchen when family visited. From chili kidney bean casserole to roasted stuffed turkey she made every meal a special event. Because of that, memorial contributions should be made to your local Meals-On-Wheels organization to help those who don't have the family support she enjoyed giving throughout her life. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Vivian Myhrwell and husband, Leland J. Ziesmer. Survivors include her brother, Randolph Myhrwell of Medford; sons, Donald Ziesmer of LaCenter, Wash., Neal Ziesmer of Albany, Ore., and Norm Ziesmer of Bend, Ore. Virginia will be returned to her husband's side at his birthplace of Garner, Iowa. A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Hollinshead Barn in Bend, Ore.
