Description	:	Virginia Sexton Anderson, 94, of rural West Liberty, died Monday, Jan. 13, 2003, at the Lone Tree Care Center, Lone Tree, after an extended illness. Memorial services are 11 a.m. Monday at Barker Funeral Home, West Liberty. The Rev. Jeanne Koughn will officiate. The body was cremated. Burial will be at South Prairie Cemetery, rural West Liberty. Barker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be directed to Iowa City Senior Citizens' Center. Mrs. Anderson was born Sept. 30, 1908, in San Francisco, Calif., the daughter of Eugene and Minnie Andreasen Sexton. She married William Anderson July 15, 1941, in Bethany, Mo. She graduated from Westwood, California High School in 1926, and attended Business College in Battle Creek, Mich. She lived most of her life on the family farm in the South Prairie community southeast of West Liberty. She was a member of the South Prairie Grange of the Patrons of Husbandry and held local, state and national offices. She was a local 4-H leader and a member of the Order of Eastern Star and Pythian Sisters. She was also a member of the West Liberty United Methodist Church. She was active in Iowa City Senior Citizens' Center activities. She also enjoyed traveling, playing cards and sewing. Survivors include two daughters, Lucy Carey and husband Tom of Ames and Jeanne Staley and husband Larry of rural West Liberty; seven grandchildren, Kelly Loving of Nichols, Keri Marshall of rural West Liberty, Kimberly Carey, Amy Carey, Ryan Carey, all of Denver, Colo., Lindsay Carey of Alta Loma, Calif. and William Carey of Ames; five great-grandchildren, Zakary and Skylar Loving, Emma and Samuel Carey and Mackenzie Marshall; and two nieces, Nancy Ricketts and Judy Leger. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister, Kay Bush.
