Description	:	Virginia S. Robertson Bruget, 91, of Hawarden, died on Monday, June 15, 2009 at the Hillcrest Health Care Center. Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Hawarden with Pastor Stuart Schreur officiating. Burial will follow in the Grace Hill Cemetery. Virginia S. Robertson Bruget was born May 9, 1918 at Harrisburg, South Dakota, the daughter of Jacobus and Rose (Knippel) Mieras. She attended Virginia rural school near Hudson. She also attended school in Maurice and then at Central High School in Sioux City. Virginia married Paul E. Robertson August 19, 1939 at South Sioux City, Nebraska. They farmed in Virginia Township, Union County, South Dakota, near Hawarden, Iowa. They lived in Omaha from 1963 to 1973 and then returned to the farm. Paul died July 17, 1985. Following his death Virginia moved into Hawarden. She later married Ralph Bruget in September of 1993. The couple made their home in Hawarden. Ralph died February 15, 2007. Since April of 2007, Virginia has lived at the Hillcrest Health Care Center. Virginia was an active member of the First Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, was a deaconess, a member of the ladies aide and helped with vacation bible school. She volunteered with meals on wheels and at the Thrift Shop and always had a big garden. She is survived by her children, Dennis Robertson and wife Susan of Hawarden, Judy Brady and husband Bill of Alcester, South Dakota, Sylvia Kallsen and Duane Schwada of Naples, Florida, Tyleen Montgomery and husband Richard of Harlingen, Texas, and Trenna Wunder and husband Rob of Worthing, South Dakota; Ralph's children, Jaylene Pirro, Deborah Leckband, and Raymond Bruget; a sister-in-law, Lily Mieras of Sioux City, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; four sisters, Dena Taylor, Gertrude Sluiter, Ada Dykstra, and Ruth Visser; three brothers, Dingnes, Lewis, and Eddie Mieras; and Ralph's son, Ronald.
