Description	:	PARK CITY - Virla I. Homewood Kober, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, was called to her heavenly home, Aug. 28, 2007, after a brief battle with cancer. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Virla was born Oct. 2, 1929, in Strawberry Point, Iowa, to Rufus and Inez Homewood. She was raised and educated in Frannie, Wyo. Homewood Kober, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, was called to her heavenly home, Aug. 28, 2007, after a brief battle with cancer. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Virla was born Oct. 2, 1929, in Strawberry Point, Iowa, to Rufus and Inez Homewood. She was raised and educated in Frannie, Wyo. She attended MSU Bozeman and graduated with a nursing degree. She enjoyed working as a registered nurse throughout her life until her third retirement in 2001. Virla was a member of the Park City American Legion Auxiliary and the Park City Senior Citizens. She met her husband, Solomon Kober, and they married June 15, 1950. To this union, four children were born and raised. Virla loved her family and enjoyed quilting, traveling and her Sunday outings with her friends. She will be remembered for her spirited nature and her zest for life. She was one of a kind and we will forever miss her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sol; son Timothy; great-grandson, Kolter Alexander; her parents and sister. She is survived by her son, Gary (Catherine), Whitefish; daughter, Kathy (Mike) Alexander, Park City; daughter. Laurie Kober, Midland, Texas; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Carrie Schneider (Evan), Kalispell, Lance (Krista) Kober, Whitefish, Curtis (Jodi) Alexander, Keevyn and Kaiden, Joliet, Toni (Bryan) Dantic, Beau and Kaitlyn, Laurel, Shannon Lauzon, New York City, Sara Lauzon, Dallas, C. J. Lauzon, Dallas, and Zach and Seth Kober and mother Sharon Kober Mohr, Park City; and brother Duane (Elaine) Homewood, Frannie; as well as many extended relatives and friends. The family would like to thank the Billings Clinic and their caring staff and Dr. Nieva. We were blessed to have Mom in your care at such a difficult time. We would also like to thank our friends and family for their thoughts and prayers and a special thanks goes to Reverend Kim Woeste, whose support and words of prayer were a comfort and blessing to the family. Memorials may be made to Big Sky Hospice, American Legion Post #100 or American Legion Auxiliary or the Park City Senior Citizens. Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, at Smith Funeral Chapel-Laurel. Inurnment will be in the Park City Cemetery.
