Booher, who died Tuesday of last week at Santa Ana, Calif., arrived here Monday morning over the Northwestern and the funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at the Christian church. Booher, who died Tuesday of last week at Santa Ana, Calif., arrived here Monday morning over the Northwestern and the funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at the Christian church. The services were n charge of Rev. Adams, pastor of that church, assisted by Rev. C. E. Lookingbill Brethren minister. Interment was in the Nevada cemetery, under the ritualistic services of Central Iowa Lodge No. 104 I. O. O. F., of which he was a longtime member. Vitus L. booher, was born in Webster county, Iowa, two miles southwest of Stratford, October 1, 1860 and died at Santa Ana, Calif., March 1, 1927 at the age of 66 years, 5 months. At the age of four years his parents moved from Webster county to Story county locating at Nevada, where Mr. Booher grew to manhood. On December 4, 1881, he was united in marriage to M. Della Andrews, who preceded him in death, Feb. 20, 1911. To this union there were born ten children six boys, Frank of Clinton, Mo., Oscar of Charles City, Marion of Boulder, Colo., Howard of Des Moines, Winnie of Kinghill, Idaho and Charles of Ames. Four daughters, one of them passed away at birth, Bertha May passed away at the age of one week, Mrs. Mark Ford of Nevada and Mrs. Clay Conklin of Denver, Colo. After the death of Mrs. Booher, Mr. Booher made his home among his children for several years until October 4, 1914, when he was united in marriage in Mrs. Hattie Knight. They made their home in Nevada until 1920, when they moved to Santa Ana, Calif., where they made their home until his death. He leaves to mourn his departure from this life his wife his six sons, two daughters, thirteen grand children, his brother, J. P. Booher of Nevada, his sister, Mrs. Hanna Holder of Nevada and a host of friends. The children present at the funeral were: Mrs. Mark Ford of this city, Frank of Clinton, Mo., Oscar of Charles City, Howard of Des Moines and Charles of Ames.
