Description	:	Viva Marie (Bedsaul) Buttery, 78, Logan, died June 13 at Longview Nursing Home in Missouri Valley. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m., June 15 at the Magnolia Cemetery with High Priest Ron Dolan, Patriarch Ken Moore and Elder Roger Seeley from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Logan officiating. Viva was born June 17, 1932 near Magnolia to Isaac Perne and Sarah Ellen (Baxter) Bedsaul. She was raised in the Mondamin area and graduated from Mondamin High School in 1951. Viva was born June 17, 1932 near Magnolia to Isaac Perne and Sarah Ellen (Baxter) Bedsaul. She was raised in the Mondamin area and graduated from Mondamin High School in 1951. A few years later, Vi married Donald Lloyd Buttery in Omaha, Neb. She attended Iowa Western Community College and became a nurse. Viva worked at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, Missouri Valley Hospital, Immanuel Hospital in Omaha and then helped set up and manage an Alzheimer's Unit at Bethany Lutheran Home in Council Bluffs. Vi had to retire in 1993 due to health reason. Viva was a member of the Church of Christ of Latter Day Saints in Logan and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She went on a 13-month mission trip on Family History in Hemet, Calif. Viva was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald Buttery and brother Norman Bedsaul. She is survived by her son, Donald Eugene Buttery and his wife Janet of Tucson, Ariz.; three grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Obituary are from the Logan Herald-Observer
