Description	:	Vivian C. Hawk was born near Ellston, Iowa on October 24, 1929, to Vern (Bill) and Vera (Fouser) Creveling. Her early childhood included the loss of two brothers in infancy and a young brother, Donald, in a car accident. Her brother, Vernie, was killed in a hunting accident and his death caused the sudden death of her mother. Her father died in 1972. Vivian's only remaining sibling was her sister, Doris Lash, who she always called, "Sister." They shared a special bond and, in their later years, talked on the phone every week until Doris passed away in 2016. Read More	Vivian C. They shared a special bond and, in their later years, talked on the phone every week until Doris passed away in 2016. Vivian was united in marriage to Lloyd E. Hosfield on August 22, 1947. They had two daughters, Donna Kay and Carolyn Rae. Vivian and Lloyd owned and operated Hosfield Grocery in Ellston where she worked on a daily basis. Vivian loved gardening and doing things outdoors. She spent a lot of time planting and caring for her flowers, especially the peonies. Vivian and Lloyd enjoyed square dancing as well as giving square dancing lessons. In 1966, they sold the store in Ellston and moved to Creston where Vivian worked at Easter's Store. They continued square dancing with friends and gave lessons in the basement of their home. Vivian and Lloyd were privileged to celebrate their 25th anniversary in 1972. Lloyd passed away on March 25, 1975. On October 23, 1976, Vivian married Duane Hawk and later moved to Galmey, Missouri to reside on Lake Pomme de Terre. Vivian enjoyed working in the yard and going out in the boat to fish. She especially liked taking the grandkids to the lake in the golf cart so they could fish, swim, or just throw rocks into the water. Duane passed away in 2012 and Vivian later moved to Branson, Missouri. Vivian was a loving mother who always put the best interests of her children and grandchildren first. She enjoyed having her family come for visits and always had sugar cookies, brownies, and vanilla ice cream in the freezer for everyone. The visits usually included a fish fry and her hush puppies. Her greatest pleasure came from playing cards, dominoes, and games with the grandkids. Vivian passed away in Ozark, Missouri on September 25, 2021. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Staci Lynn Shields, in December 1980. She is survived by her daughters Donna (Raymond) Shields, their children Michael (Nicole) Shields, Grant & Ava; and Angela Waugh, son Keagan; Carolyn (Rodney) Shields, their children, Jason (Rebecca) Shields, Wade, Walker & Calloway; and Aaron Shields, sons, Wilder and Sam; as well as many nieces, nephews, and their families.
