Born March 15, 1921 in Marlboro County, she was a daughter of the late Jessie D. and Margaret Ora Wilkins Clark. She was a member of the Bennettsville First Church of the Nazarene for 36 years, where she sang in the choir, and enjoyed being in the Ladies Circle. She is survived by her son, Jesse Mumford of McColl; daughter, Anita English and husband, L.C. of Wallace; sisters, Mary Bowen of Bennettsville and Avis White of Wallace; grandchildren, Steve English and wife, Patty, Gloria Ann Mumford, Vera Renee Mumford, Tony Norman Mumford, Tammy Jones and husband, Jimmy, Marty Walters, and Lisa Quick and husband, Jeff; and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents listed above, her husband, Carroll Crowley, son, Corporal Jimmy Mumford; daughters, Zena Walters and Jeanette Turner, a granddaughter, Ann Steen, brothers James Cameron Clark and James Grady Clark, sisters, Reva Mumford, Lula Parker, Glennis White and Ludie Clark. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2013 at the Bennettsville First Church of the Nazarene officiated by the Rev. Mark Foster, with the burial to follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Burroughs Cooper Kiser Funeral Home.
