Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 19, at the West Branch United Methodist Church, West Branch. Burial will be in the West Branch Cemetery, West Branch, Iowa. Vivian Elaine White was born August 29, 1930, in Iowa City, the daughter of Harold and Maxine (Stuart) White. She graduated from West Branch High School in 1948. She married Keith Clarke Howard on May 15, 1949, in West Branch. Together they farmed in the West Branch area for many years, until their retirement. She was a business owner prior to her employment at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, until she retired in 1992. Keith preceded her in death on January 9, 2016. She was a member of the West Branch United Methodist Church, served as a Sunday school teacher for 20 years and participated in CUPS, Eastern Star, MAO and TPM. She was involved in 4H, loved riding horses, was a Cub Scout Leader, an avid book reader and Iowa State Cyclone fan. She loved her family and all were important to her. She is survived by one daughter, Diane (Kathy) Howard of Byrdstown, TN; four sons, David (Linda) Howard of Galena, IL, Duane (Joyce) Howard of Ames, Dean (Barb) Howard of DeSoto and Dale (Donna) Howard of Clive; 13 grandchildren, Fiona, Bronwyn, John, Gillian, Kierra, Brian, Laura, Chris, Kari, Jeff, Nikki, Justin and Emily; 18 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Orlane Huey of Solon. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Henderson-Barker Funeral Homes
