Burial was in the Harlan Cemetery with R.G. Kemp, Harry Ahrenholtz, Roger Ahrenholtz, Valen Christensen, Leonard L. Fiscus and Harry Ahrenholtz, Jr. serving as pallbearers. Vivian Ellen Shaw, the daughter of Anna and A.R. Errett, was born April 19, 1907 on a farm in Center Township, east of Harlan where she grew to womanhood. November 20, 1927 she was united in marriage to John W. Shaw at Harlan and to this union three children were born. They are: Dean of Clarkfield, Minn; John L. of Algona; Vivian K., Mrs. William Robison of Livermore, California. Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Shaw lived in Oskaloosa, Storm Lake, Washington, Kansas, Ida Grove, Grinnell and Jefferson, where Mr. Shaw worked in the J.C. Penny stores of these cities. After his retirement they moved to Sun City, Arizona, in October of 1966. It was there she died, very unexpectedly, Sunday, May 17, 1970 just 28 days after her 63rd birthday. Mrs. Shaw has been a member of the Methodist Church for many years and after moving to Arizona she transferred her membership to the United Methodist Church of Sun City. She was also an active member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her mother on October 8, 1966. In addition to her husband, John W. and her three children, Mrs. Shaw is survived by 13 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and her father, Mr. A.R. Errett of Elk Horn. She is also survived by three sisters, Audrey, Mrs. R.G. Kemp of Atlantic; Violet, Mrs. H.B. Deen of Oakland, California; and Annajean, Mrs. Harry E. Ahrenholtz, Sr. of Defiance.; by several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
