Waters, 94, of Mount Pleasant died Wed-nesday, Dec. 16, 2009, at Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mount Pleasant. Born Dec. 18, 1914, in Wayland, she was the daughter of Harvey F. and Leah Mary Richard Eicher. On Aug. 6, 1938, she married Ross Edward Waters in Mount Pleasant. He died Dec. 22, 1993. Mrs. Waters worked at Buff's Travel Plaza and in the parts department of Waters Implement Co., which she and her family owned. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Mount Pleasant, United Methodist Women, TTT Iowa A Founders Chapter of Mount Pleasant and the former MeMarCo Sunday School class of First UMC. She was a very adept bridge player and belonged to different bridge clubs. She enjoyed traveling, shopping and playing the piano. Survivors include one son, Robert Waters of Mount Pleasant; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Esther Anderson of Mount Pleasant; and one niece. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, one brother in infancy and one sister. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Kimzey Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, where family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. The funeral for Mrs. Waters will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Richard Latta officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Mount Pleasant. A memorial has been established for First United Methodist Church.
