Description	:	Maxine Clinkenbeard, 88, of Unionville, MO, passed away at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, MO, on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, after a brief illness. Vivian Maxine (Cullum) Clinkenbeard was born in rural eastern Putnam County, MO, on January 5, 1928, the daughter of Cloyd and Hattie (Husted) Cullum, who preceded her in death. Read More	Maxine Clinkenbeard, 88, of Unionville, MO, passed away at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, MO, on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, after a brief illness. Vivian Maxine (Cullum) Clinkenbeard was born in rural eastern Putnam County, MO, on January 5, 1928, the daughter of Cloyd and Hattie (Husted) Cullum, who preceded her in death. She graduated from Livonia High School in 1945 and soon after traveled to Madison, WI, to marry Glen Clinkenbeard on May 21, 1945. Glen was stationed there in the service at the time. The couple returned to Omaha, MO, when Glen completed his service and they lived in that area and farmed for the remainder of their married life. Glen passed away June 10, 2003. Maxine accepted Christ as her Savior as a teenager and remained faithful to her Lord and His church for the rest of her life. Maxine worked briefly at the garment factory in Unionville and at the Sylvania light bulb factory in Centerville, IA. She also sold Avon and Artex (a craft paint product) as well as helping with farm chores and raising her family. She will be well remembered as a dedicated deputy County Clerk in Putnam County for many years, retiring from that office. She and Glen spend many winters in Arizona following Glen’s retirement in 1992, and Maxine continued to go to Arizona for the winters until her health prevented her from doing so. Maxine remained a very active person until the last few months when she moved to the Putnam County Care Center. She loved people and was very outgoing and sociable. Her family was her number one priority and many of her days were filled attending school functions of the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also embraced a large extended “family” into her love and care. Maxine was a member of Mt. Hermon Church for many years where she was active in many roles and in the women’s ministries. She and Glen built warm friendships in that congregation and community. Maxine joined the Unionville Christian Church when she moved to Unionville. Maxine is survived by her four children, Mitzie Knight and husband Gary of Unionville, MO; Gary Clinkenbeard and wife Beth of Vienna, MO; Dixie Cooley and husband Jack of Lucerne, MO; and Terri Sanchez and husband Greg of McDonough, GA. Her grandchildren are David (Sara) Crossgrove, Angie (Tim) Cool, Brad (Brenda) Knight, Bruce (Carol) Knight, Tiffany Clinkenbeard, Ami (Danny) Hartwig, Leslie (Brad) Ream, Laura (Bill) Patton, Rachel (Luke) McKenney, Janelle (John) Hepler, Jamie (Brandon) Lynch, Bryan (Melissa) Powell, Kyle (Michelle) Powell, Sheldon Sanchez, and Bethany (Matthew) Millsaps. Maxine’s great grandchildren are Alyssa Fillmore, KJ Cool, Kameron Cool, Erin Ballard, Dillon Crossgrove, Brennan Crossgrove, Kasey Knight, Macey Tipton, Jamie Esteps, Jackson, Cora, and Walter Hartwig, Trey, Kelsie, Haiden, and Owen Ream, Benton and Weston Patton, Grace and Max McKenney, Joey, Jaclyn and Judd Hepler, Madelyn, Meredith, and Max Lynch, Camron and Taylor Powell, Vivian and Kinsley Millsaps, and Hunter Powell. Great-Great grandchildren are Kaiya, Alyvia & Kohen Fillmore, Lillie & Kinley Ballard, Josie & Brenley Tipton, Caroline Esteps, and Kannon & Karigan Cool. She is also survived by a brother, Joe Cullum and wife Wilma of Scottsdale, AZ. Funeral services for Maxine Clinkenbeard will be at Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home, at 10:30 AM on Saturday, April 23, 2016. Visitation will be on Friday, April 22, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Interment will be at the Mt. Hermon Cemetery, Chariton, Putnam County, MO. Memorials are suggested to the Mt. Hermon Cemetery and may be entrusted with Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th St., Unionville, MO 63565.
