Vlasta Anna Suchy of Niobrara Nebraska, daughter of Frank and Anna (Liska) Krupicka, died Monday August 18, 2008 at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital. Vlasta was born November 12, 1908 at the Krupicka Niobrara family farm and reached the age of 99 years, 9 months and 6 days. Vlasta attended district 133 country school until 5th grade. She then attended the Niobrara public grade school and high school until she graduated in 1926. Vlasta graduated from College in Wayne Nebraska with a teaching certificate in1928, and taught country school at district 50 for 1 year, and district 133 for 3 years. On June 1, 1932 Vlasta married Louie Suchy at ONeil Nebraska. They had one daughter Zada Vey in 1939 who died at birth. After marrying Louie she worked as a homemaker and helped Louie at the Suchy family farm east of Niobrara. After her husbands death in 1979 she moved to the town of Niobrara Nebraska. Vlasta became a resident at Alpine Village Nursing home in May of 2008. Vlasta was an active member of the ZCBJ Lodge 53 in Niobrara Nebraska all of her life. She enjoyed many activities and friendship with the ZCBJ Lodge through out her life and received a 75 year pin from the Lodge in 2005. Vlasta was also a member of the Niobrara Senior Center Vlasta was celebrated as the oldest living resident of Niobrara Nebraska and was one of the Grand Martials at their sesquicentennial celebration parade in 2006. She enjoyed, cooking, baking, gardening, flowers playing cards, and visiting with family and friends. Survivors include her brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Wencil and Virginia Suchy of Omaha Nebraska, sister-in-law; Elsie Krupicka of Norfolk Nebraska, cousins; Robert Liska of Verdigre and Norman Krupicka of Wheat Bridge Co. and many Nephews and Nieces. Vlasta was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter; her husband; and her 5 brothers; Emil Krupicka, Adolph Krupicka, Edward Krupicka, Delmar Krupicka, and Elmer Krupicka.
