Read More	MOUNT AIRY, NC (Slate Mountain Community) ~ Mrs. Voda Caroline Gammons Brim, 96, of Slate Mountain Road, Mount Airy, wife of the Rev. Romney Brim for 79 years and nine months, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday March 6, 2005. She was born June 11, 1908, in Surry County, to the late Jay and Alice Cook Gammons. Mrs. Brim was a homemaker and served as a Sunday school teacher for 35 years. She was a faithful member of Mount Airy Church of God. Mrs. Brim was a most wonderful and loving mother of nine children. She is survived by her precious husband of the home; five sons and three daughters-in-law, Gloma "Jay" and Carolyn Brim of Mooresville, Delbert and Betty Brim, Plato Brim, and Reavis Brim, all of Mount Airy, and Bronson and Bobbie Brim of Rockingham; and three daughters and son-in-law Leeronie Easter of Greensboro, Oleeta Chilton, and Kornella and Donald Martin, all of Mount Airy. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 34 great- grandchildren and 12 great-great- grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brim was preceded in death by a daughter Vernie Watson; two sisters, Zella Simmons and Vassie Dollyhite; a daughter-in-law, Mary June Brim; and a son-in-law, Marvin Watson. The funeral service will be held Wednesday March 9, 2005, at 2 p.m. at the Mount Airy Church of God. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Charles Powers, the Rev. Don Whichard, and the Rev. Junior Jenkins. Two special family friends will be speakers. Burial will take place at Old Westfield Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy and at other times at 1416 Slate Mountain Road, Mount Airy, NC. Flowers will be accepted.
