Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 15 2016 at Ritchie Funeral Home, Clarinda, Iowa with Pastor Ben McKim officiating. Visitation with the family will be held 5:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Shearer Cemetery, Braddyville, Iowa with military rites by the American Legion Post 98. The family and friends gathered at Braddy Hall following the internment for fellowship. Memorial may be directed to St. John Lutheran Church Library or to the Braddy Hall and Park. Arrangements were entrusted to the Ritchie Funeral Home of Clarinda, Iowa. Wayne was born February 4, 1924 on the Davison homestead east of Braddyville to Wilber and Irene (Clark) Davison. Wayne lived his entire life within 1 ½ miles of his birthplace until moving to Clarinda in 1996. He attended Pine School through eighth grade and one year in Braddyville High School. Wayne was drafted into the Army in 1943. In August of 1944 he married Robbie Jean Morss of Braddyville. Shortly after, he was sent to Europe and went through several military campaigns, including the Battle of the Bulge. He returned home after the war ended in Europe. Wayne and Robbie moved to their own farm after he returned and lived there for over 50 years. Wayne began trucking in addition to his farm work and hauled grain and livestock for area farmers. He and Robbie sold livestock feed for over 50 years. During that time he met many folks he considered friends. Wayne enjoyed his work and all of the people that crossed his path. After moving to Clarinda, he enjoyed visiting with folks walking the boulevard in front of their home. Wayne and Robbie have been members of St. John Lutheran Church for over 30 years. Wayne was a member of the Kiwanis and the American Legion. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bennie Davison.
