Wade and Nellie were the parents of two known children, Aletha Grace and Hurvey Scott. I have not been able to find any further information on Nellie. --------------- Obituary From "Ottumwa Courier," Saturday, December 4, 1965, Page 10: Wade McReynolds Dies; Bus Driver; Legislator Wade H. McReynolds, 75, long-time Ottumwa streetcar and bus driver and a two-term state representative, died Friday night in Beloit, Wis., Memorial Hospital. Mr. McReynolds began his service employment with the Ottumwa Railway and Light Co. in 1912 as a streetcar conductor. He later worked for Iowa Southern Utilities Co., National City Lines, and Ottumwa Transit Lines Inc. He retired as a bus driver for Ottumwa Transit in 1956. A Democrat, McReynolds first was elected to the House of Representatives of the Iowa General Assembly for the 1946-47 term. In the general election in November of 1954, he defeated Otto Armstrong for state representative for the 1955-56 term. He enjoyed politics and listed it and labor as his chief hobbies. The son of William and Fannie Scott McReynolds, he was born Oct. 26, 1890, in Bancroft, Neb., and came to Ottumwa in 1912. His marriage to Wilma Hite took place here on Dec. 23, 1925. She died in 1963. Their home was at 303 N. Marion and they attended Plymouth Congregational Church. Mr. McReynolds was a member of the Street Railway and Bus Drivers Union Local No. 199, AFL, for many years and served as its president for 13 years. He was also a past vice president of the Iowa Association of Bus Drivers and Street Railway Operators, AFL., and past auditor of the Iowa State Federation of Labor affiliate of AFL. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and chairman of the order for several years. He was a past member of the Eagles. Survivors include a son, Hurvey McReynolds of Ottumwa; a daughter, Mrs. Alethea Heiss of Beloit, Wis., a sister, Mrs. Zeta McClure of Waterloo, and one granddaughter. The service will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Jay Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Knauss of the Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. The body will arrive in Ottumwa early Sunday morning.
