Her death followed a two week illness. Her death followed a two week illness. Mrs. Eckert, a native of Russia, had been a resident of Burleigh county since her arrival in the United States 40 years ago.The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ignatius Schneider, she was born in Strasburg, Russia, April 1 1850. She came here with the husband and family to make her home. Her husband and five children preceded her in death. Those she leaves are five children, Joseph Eckert, Mrs. Anton (Eva) Bartole, Mrs. Joseph Schneider and Mrs. Joseph Schwaan, all of Bismarck, and Mrs. Lena Almont, Salem, Ore. One brother, Valentine Schneider, Bismarck, 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren are also left. Mrs. Eckert was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and altar society there. A rosary will be held in her memory Tuesday at 7:30pm by members of the altar society at the Hall funeral home. The Catholic Order of Men's Foresters will recite a rosary there at 8pm. Funeral services will be conducted from St. Mary's Catholic Church here Wednesday at 9am by the Very Rev. Robert A. Feehan. Pallbearers will be Anton and Casper Eckert, Joseph and Lawrence Bartole, Phillip Kosson and Felix Schneider. Burial will be made in the family plot at St. Mary's Cemetery.
