Description	:	Youngest of six children (4-girls, 2-boys) born to George William Ansley and Mary Jane "Jennie" Andrews Ansley. Siblings include: James Henry, Frank Spencer, Hattie B., Anna Mabel, and Joa O. The grandson of James Andrews, one of the first settlers in Hale Township. James Andrews was from Washington County, Pennsylvania, was born August 8, 1805, and married Mary Hathaway, October 25, 1827. James Andrews was from Washington County, Pennsylvania, was born August 8, 1805, and married Mary Hathaway, October 25, 1827. Charles Ansley, also Tude's grandfather, was also one of the early settlers in Hardin County, having come from Maryland to Kentucky, then to Logan County, Ohio, where he sold his ninety acres and purchased two hundred five acres in Hale Township in 1856. His children were: James R., George W., Mary J., Charles T., and Lydia E., and Joan who died young. He sold ninety-seven acres to George William Ansley, to which more land was added later. George W. and Mary J. had six children: Henry, who married Clara Hatcher; Frank; Hattie, who married Jake Bentley; Anna, who married Charles (Elwood) Reams; Joe, who married Ruby Stevenson, and Waldo (Tude) who married Ruth Stephenson who was born March 2, 1891. Ruth's grandfather was also one of the early settlers in Ridgeway, Hardin County, Ohio. He built the first hotel there in March, 1858. Tude and Ruth had three daughters: Grace, born April 10, 1918; Mabel, born January 24, 1920; and Lois, born April 12, 1921. Grace married Bernard BLACK in 1939. They have five children. Mabel married Gerald (Jerry) J. CANDLER, April 5, 1942. They have two children. Lois married Harry E. CRONLEY in 1939. They have five children. Tude moved into Ridgeway in November, 1923, where he purchased the Anna Bell home on S. Main St., located on the southeast corner of the Hardin-Logan County line. He lived there until his death in 1968, at which time his daughter and son-in-law, Mabel and Gerald Chandler purchased the home. They continue to live there. Tude purchased his own school bus in 1924 and hauled children for the Ridgeway school system for 14 years at a payment of $100 per month. He drove to his farm each day, having a tenant on the farm to asist him in his raising of Shorthorn cattle, milking cows, and raising Delans sheep and lambs.
