Description	:	Funeral services for Walinda Doescher age 92 of West Point, NE will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Beemer, NE. Interment will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from noon to 8 p.m., with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Minnick Funeral Home in West Point and will continue on Thursday one hour prior to service at the church. Walinda passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at the Colonial Haven Nursing Home in Beemer, NE. Walinda Minna Beata Doescher was born September 20, 1919 at rural Beemer, NE to William and Anna (Schlecht) Hasenkamp. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Beemer, NE. Walinda attended Immanuel Lutheran Parochial School. On September 28, 1941, she was united in marriage to John Doescher, Sr. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church. The couple farmed near Clarkson for one year before returning to farm west of West Point, NE until retiring. The couple moved into West Point in 1994. Walinda was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Beemer, NE. She was active in the Ladies Aid-holding several offices and was honored for 63 years of service on the Altar Flower Committee. Walinda held membership in the Concordia University Guild and the St. Francis Hospital Auxiliary. She was a talented seamstress, quilter, and flower gardener. Walinda will be remembered for her quiet friendliness, and her sincere dedication to God and her cherished family. Survivors include- Children and their families- Joan and husband Daniel Schram of Springfield, NE and family David and wife Brandee Schram and children-Haley, Brayden & Zachary Michael and wife Dani Schram and sons-Gage & Caden Kara and husband Matt Pedersen and son Gavin Jonathan and wife Sarah Schram and sons-Jacob & Mason Genene and husband Larry Miller of West Point, NE and family Sandi and husband Orville Samuelson and children Cody & Kyle Russell and wife Amy Miller and children Whitney & Nathan Douglas Miller Susan and husband Terry Koertner and children Rachel, Nicole & Ryan John, Jr. and wife Julie Doescher of Grand Island, NE and daughter Holly and husband Dave Bohn and daughter Valerie Sisters- Luella Kersten of Ft. Wayne, IN Eileen and husband Don Kvols of Colorado Springs, CO Walinda was preceded in death by her parents, husband-John, Sr., two brothers- Elgin & Arlin Hasenkamp, and three sisters-Lavina Kersten, Elverna Stark and Alice Lueschen.
