Funeral services for Wallace Scott were held at 10:30 Wednesday, February 23, 2005, at the Grace United Methodist Church, Brooklyn. Rev. David Rogula officiated and the musician was Marilyn Kriegel. Casket-Bearers were Mike Montgomery, Justin Abold, Arthur Kuntz, Archie Kuntz, Gary Waterbeck, and Terry Waterbeck. Interment was in Brooklyn Memorial Cemetery, Brooklyn. A memorial fund has been established. Nevenhoven Funeral Services were in charge of arrangements. Scotty was born north of Brooklyn, IA, on November 10, 1914 to Albert William and Nellie (Deacon) Scott. Scotty attended Brooklyn schools and graduated from Brooklyn High School in1935. On April 12, 1940, Scotty married Arlene Hazel Keller. They were the parents of two children, Don Scott and Carol Scott Abold. After Scotty was discharged from the Army in 1943, he returned to Brooklyn. Scotty began working for REC in 1943 and worked there for 37 years until he retired in 1980. Throughout Scotty's lifetime, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapshooting and breeding and training hunting dogs. Scotty and Arlene lived together in Brooklyn almost 65 years until his death. He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post #294. Scotty was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and three brothers. He is survived by his wife, Arlene; his son, Don, and his wife, Inez, of Brooklyn, Iowa; his daughter, Carol, and her husband, Phillip, of Woodbridge, Virginia; four grandchildren, Rick Scott and his wife, Julie, of Audubon, Iowa, Randy Scott and his wife, Kay, of Marion, Iowa, Katherine Abold Todorov and her husband, Todor, of Silver Spring, Maryland, and Justin Abold, of Silver Spring, Maryland; five great grandchildren, Megan and Ryan Scott of Audubon, Iowa, Logan and Hayden Scott of Marion, Iowa and Nicholas Todorov of Silver Spring, Maryland.
