Description	:	Wallace Heinle, 62, died on Thursday, October 16, 2003, in his home after a long battle with cancer. His mother and children were at his bedside. Read More	Wallace Heinle, 62, died on Thursday, October 16, 2003, in his home after a long battle with cancer. His mother and children were at his bedside. He was born October 7, 1941 to Alvin and Tillie (Gienger) Heinle in Hebron, North Dakota. He was raised on the family farm, and graduated from Hebron High School in 1958. Wally attended Wahpeton State School of Science and graduated with a degree in electronics in 1961. Wallace moved to Minot, where he worked at Souris River Telephone Cooperative, first as a groundsman, then as a linesman. He later became a central office technician, and finished his last 15 years as a draftsperson. Wally retired in 1997 after 36 years. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America. Wally received the Silver Beaver Award in 1998, District Award of Merit in 1983, Order of Arrow Award, National Presidential Scoutmaster Award in 1987, and was a Distinguished Commissioner from 1992 to 1996, in addition to being the troop leader of Boy Scout Troop 425 for several years. He was also a member of the Elks Band, where he served as the assistant band manager for 6 years and the band manager for 7 years. Wally was secretary/treasurer for the North Dakota Motorcross Association for several years, as well as a long time member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers of America 714. Wallace especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, woodworking, building, buck skinning, working with electronics, and all forms of racing and motor sports. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan as well. He spent countless hours building and improving the Big 4 Boy Scout Camp. Survivors are: daughter, Pamela Huber, Minot; sons, Patrick, Des Lacs, and Paul, Minot; grandchildren, Kyla, Wyatt, Hunter, Madison, and Alexis Heinle, and Brandon Huber; mother, Tillie Heinle; cousin, Floyd. Preceded in death by his father, Alvin Heinle. Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 21, 2003 at the First Lutheran Church in Minot.
