A private graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Sunday, May 8, 2016, at Victor Memorial Cemetery in Victor, Iowa. Wally was born July 18, 1939, to Wallace and Lola Williams Rohrer in rural Victor; he was raised on the family farm and graduated from Victor High School with the class of 1957. On April 18, 1958, he married Shirley Mitchell in Marengo. The couple made their home in Victor. Wally was employed as a truck driver and ready mix manager at Manatt's in Brooklyn for 38 years and nine years at Rohrer Fertilizer in Victor. Wally enjoyed collecting metal cast cars and spending time with his dogs who he considered his children; later in life he became interested in political surveys . He will be missed by his brother, Charles (Sally) Rohrer of Cedar Rapids; niece, Toni Rohrer and her boyfriend Rod, of North English; nephew, Larry (Karen) Rohrer of Greeley, Colorado; special friend, Kathy Ranfeld of Victor and many other friends. Wally is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Shirley in 2001.
