Wallace Gilbert Wolken was born on December 4, 1917 in Dillon, Iowa to Harry and Emma (Funke) Wolken. He married Helen Margaret Greiner on June 2, 1940 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in State Center, Iowa. Wally farmed from 1941 until 1963. He was the owner and operator of the Starlite Lounge and Restaurant in Nevada for over 30 years. Wally was a member of the Memorial Lutheran Church. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, showing cattle, and enjoying time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Wally is survived by his wife Helen Wolken of Nevada; his daughter Jackie Flynn (Galen) of Nevada; one brother, LaVern Wolken of Green Mountain; four sisters, Gerry Hartwig of State Center, Gladys Zink of Laurel , Marvel Stalzer of Marshalltown, and Lois Escalante of La Peute, California. two grandchilden, Todd Van Scoy and Jason (Courtney) Van Scoy; 4 great grandchildren, Madison, Olivia, Kennedy, and Carson Van Scoy; three step grandchildren, Todd Flynn, Gene Flynn, and Shawn Flynn; 12 step great grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Bernice Greiner of Mesa, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers Raymond and Glenwood, 3 sisters Martha Knott, Florence Harmon, and Alice Goodman, a brother-in-law, John Greiner, and a great grandson, Nathan VanScoy.
