He was a member of West Bethel United Methodist Church. He served many years in the S. C. National Guard as a helicopter mechanic. He assisted his wife in the operation of the Playhouse Nursery in St. Matthews. He was the son of the late Wallace Mortimer Walling and Dessie Kaminer Walling... Walling of the home; two daughters, Deborah Anne 'Debbie' Davis and husband, Jack, of Seneca, and Dessie Annette Culler and husband, Gregg, of St. Matthews; son, Wallace M. Walling of St. Matthews; five grandchildren, Katie Elizabeth Schumacher and husband, Nick, of Charleston, John Tyler Davis of Bowman, Gregory Josh Culler, Taylor Lawrence Culler, Cally Kaminer Culler, all of St. Matthews; and two great-grandchildren, Carter Elizabeth Schumacher and Harper Anne Schumacher.
