Description	:	Wallace Vinton "Wally" Hall - Of Bridgewater, passed away December 16, 2007 at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born February 1, 1919, he was a son of the late Edwin and Leta (Bowers) Hall of Petite Riviere. He was a veteran of the Second World War, having served with the R.C.A.F. in Canada and the United Kingdom and took part in the Normandy invasion in June 1944. Read More	Wallace Vinton "Wally" Hall - Of Bridgewater, passed away December 16, 2007 at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born February 1, 1919, he was a son of the late Edwin and Leta (Bowers) Hall of Petite Riviere. He was a veteran of the Second World War, having served with the R.C.A.F. in Canada and the United Kingdom and took part in the Normandy invasion in June 1944. The remainder of his service time was spent in Europe. In recognition of his military service he received the 1939/1945 Star, the France Germany Star, the Canadian Voluntary Service Medal (with maple leaf and clasp) and the 1939/1945 War Medal. He was also the recipient of the Holland "Thank You Canada" Medal recently presented by the Dutch Consul General in a ceremony at the Royal Canadian Legion in Bridgewater. He returned to Canada and civilian life in 1946. In October of that year he was employed by Acadia Construction Ltd. and remained with them for 37 years, retiring in December 1983. He was a Life member of Branch 24 Royal Canadian Legion, a member of Lunenburg County Veterans Association and a member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Bridgewater. He is survived by his wife, Edith (Cook), 3 children, daughters, Patricia Dexter (Stephen), Brooklyn; Pamela Cormillot (Peter), Summerland, BC; son, Peter (Sherry), Bridgewater; grandchildren, Matthew, Graham, Sophie, Silvie and Courtney; sister, Marguerite Isaacs (John), Port Perry, Ont.; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister, Reta (Walter) Wile; brother, Ruggles, Bellville, Ont. A memorial service will be held 10:30 Wednesday in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Bridgewater, Father Ron Appleton officiating. A public Legion Tribute Service will be held at 7pm Tuesday in Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater. No flowers by request. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Trinity Anglican Church, South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater or the charity of your choice. Contributor: coveylane
