(Hartman) Blome. He was baptized October 25, 1931 and confirmed in March 25, 1945 at the Zion Evangelical Reformed Church in Hubbard, Iowa. Read More	* IN LOVING MEMORY OF * Wallace "Wally" Walter Blome was born on Sunday; July 19, 1931 on a farm north of Hubbard; Hardin County, Iowa. He was the son of: Walter W. and Myrtle B. (Hartman) Blome. He was baptized October 25, 1931 and confirmed in March 25, 1945 at the Zion Evangelical Reformed Church in Hubbard, Iowa. He remained a member there until 1983, at which time he became a member of Saint John's Lutheran Church in Hubbard, Iowa. Wally attended rural country school through the eighth grade then he attended Hubbard High School graduating with the Class of 1949. After graduation, he helped his father farm and continued farming part time until the spring of 1980. Throughout his life, he worked for Quaker Feed Mill, Iowa Falls Purina Bean Plant, the Standard Station in Hubbard, Hibbard Implement, drove a milk truck for Zearing Cheese Factory, Firestone in Iowa Falls. In 1980, he drove truck for Ferrell Gas and in 1981 started to work for Farm Service in Hubbard, Iowa in the agronomy and then feed department. Wally was the feed bulk truck driver until he retired in 1996. After his retirement, he enjoyed helping Larry Hindman with the spring and fall field. His last venture was working for the Hubbard Golf and Recreation Club. Wally was united in marriage to Ramona Ranger in May 1954. On August 12, 1961, Wally was united in marriage to Joyce Strauss at the Church of Christ in Alden, Iowa. To this union two children were born, Kevin W. Blome in 1964 and Katherine A. (Blome) Boeke in 1965. On January 9, 1983, he was united in marriage to Ann Fredrickson at the Saint John's Lutheran Church in Hubbard, Iowa. They enjoyed their combined family of two sons and two daughters. But their true joy was camping together. Ann passed away after a year long battle with lung cancer on Monday; January 20, 1992. Wally married Charlene Palo on May 23, 1993 at the Pine Lake Lodge in Eldora; Hardin County, Iowa. Wally came to know the meaning of a large family as he embraced his new wife and her six kids. He enjoyed trips to Nebraska, Texas and Florida to visit them. Wally enjoyed spending time with family camping, fishing, and golfing. After he retired, golfing was his favorite past time with his kids and friends. Wallace "Wally" Walter Blome, age: 77, passed away on Friday; December 12, 2008 at his home in Eldora, Iowa. Those left to mourn his passing are: His wife: Charlene Blome of Eldora, Iowa; his son: Kevin (Brenda) Blome and his daughter: Kathy (Mark) Boeke all of Hubbard, Iowa. His step-daughters: Cynthia (Tim) Larvrenz of Garden City; Finney County, Kansas and Kimberly (Richard) Callahan of LeAndre; Williamson County, Texas; his step-sons: Jeffrey (Debbie) Fredrickson of Jewell; Hamilton County, Iowa, Joe Frazer and a special friend: Stacia of Steamboat Rock; Hardin County, Iowa, Larry (Maria) Frazer of Kissimmee; Osceola County, Florida, Mark (Amy) Palo of Steamboat Rock, Iowa, Jerry (Catina) Palo of Owasa; Hardin County, Iowa and Todd Palo of Steamboat, Iowa. His twenty-one grandchildren and his thirteen great-grandchildren. His two sisters: Joanne (Wendell) Prochaska of Lincoln; Lancaster County, Nebraska and Joyce (Gary) Faris of Iowa Falls; Hardin County, Iowa. His one brother: Robert (Ruth) Blome of Hubbard, Iowa; his brothers-in-law: Maynard (Marvel) Hedum of Webster City; Hamilton County, Iowa and Alfred (Jan) Hedum of Gresham; Multnomah County, Oregon; his sister-in-law: Eldora Gillio of Hanford; Kings County, California; along with many other relatives and friends. Wally was preceeded in death by his parents and wife: Anne. May they rest in peace. May God bless his memory and give strength to those that mourn. Visitation will be from: 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday; December 14, 2008 at the Boeke Funeral Home in Hubbard, Iowa. Funeral services will begin at: 10:30 a.m. on Monday; December 15, 2008 at the Saint John's Evangelical Lutheran Church also in Hubbard, Iowa. Final destination will be at the Hubbard Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Wally's honor may be made to the Iowa Hospice or the Hubbard Golf & Rec.
