He was born Dec. 10, 1913 at Columbus, the son of Henry and Elsie (Bakenhus) Buss. He attended public and Christ Lutheran Schools and graduated from Kramer High in 1931 and from Concordia College at Seward in 1934. He married Violet Held on June 29, 1938 at Columbus. He taught in parochal [sic] schools in Vernon, Tex., Leigh, Neb., and Carleton, Neb. At the time of his death his employment was with Art Printery. A member of Peace Lutheran Church, he was baptized Jan. 4, 1914 by Rev. Denninger and was confirmed in 1927 by Rev. J.P. Kuehnert at Christ Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife, Violet; two children, Mike of Lincoln, Mrs. Lynn (Cheryl) Strohs of Marysville, Kans.; four grandchildren; two brothers, Henry of Columbus and Edward of Ulysses, Kans.; two sisters, Alma Buss and Mrs. Walter (Louise) Blessen, both of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family suggests memorials to: The Lutheran Family Social Service; Peace Lutheran Building Fund; or the Cancer Society. per don
