He died Thursday, Oct. 20, 1988, at St. Luke's Midland Regional Medical Center. Walter A. Nack was born July 10, 1908 in rural Groton, to Adolph and Emma (Lenling) Nack. He graduated from Stratford High School, then farmed in West Hanson Township. On June 5, 1929, he married Vesta Van Riper. They lived on a farm until 1969, when he retired and they moved into Groton. He was employed by the Juel Egg Co., and later worked as custodian of St. John's Lutheran Church. He had most recently been living at the Aberdeen Living Center because of ill health. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the Groton Garden Club. Survivors include one son, Darrell Nack, Aberdeen; one daughter, Mrs. Darrel (Deanna) Hendrickson, Groton; six Grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and one sister. Casketbearers were Lonnie Nack, Brad Nack, Pat Murphy, Jeff Hendrickson, Sheldon Lenling, and James Young. Organist was Mrs. Eugene Neuman and David Sueltz was the soloist.
