Koch, 78, Schaller, were held Dec. 26 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Schaller. Rev. Albert Buelou officiated. Burial was in the Schaller Cemetery. Farber and Otteman Funeral Home, Schaller, was in charge of arrangements. He died Dec. 23, 1986 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home, Odebolt. Koch was born Oct. 14, 1908, in rural Holstein to John and Emma (Brammer) Koch and attended Schaller Community School. He worked for area farmers and also did carpenter work. In 1944 he began farming on his own and retired in 1959. He then worked at Bil-Mar Foods in Storm Lake until his retirement in 1975. He married Pearl Heske Peterson April 26, 1973. She died Feb. 9, 1980. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Schaller. Preceding him in death were his parents; one sister — Mary; and two brothers — Harry and Henry. Survivors include four sisters — Leona Anderson, Velma Clifford, Mrs. Clyde (Inez) McDonough, all of Schaller and Mrs. Elvena Bennett, Tucson, Ariz.; and one brother — Fred Koch, Modesto, Calif.
