He also leaves five sisters; Flora Flagel of Flin Flon, Hilda Ratchinsky of Dominion City, Alma Walters of Morris, Edna Brad of Russell, Adeline Kien of Winnipeg; and one brother, Henry Casper of Morris. He will also be sadly missed by his sisters and brother-in-law and many nieces and nephews. He was predecease by his mother and father, Rudolph and Augusta Casper, one brother, Fred and one sister Mabel. Walter was born in December 31, 1914 in Green Ridge. He farmed for five years in the Dominion city area and then worked 28 years for the provincial government, Highways Department until his retirement in 1979. He has been active member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church and very helpful in the community. Walter loved to work in his large garden and build children's toys and outdoor furniture. Funeral service was held Monday, March 18 at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Dominion City with Rev. Roger Olson officiating. Interment to follow in the Dominion City Cemetery. Viewing was held at the church prior to the service. Honorary pallbearers for the service were Melvin Morken, Jim Anstett, Ernest Bochinski, Harold Pott and Irving Scott. Active pallbearers were Bruce Scott, Ron Ramsey, Hugh Lamont, Buddy Knox, Tim Peters, and Brian Solnes. Obituary Winnipeg Free Press.
