He was a native of Lynchburg and was preceded in death by his father, William Edward Godsey. He is survived by his mother, Ruby Watts Godsey of Roanoke; a sister, Patty G. Booth of Conway, S.C.; two nephews, David Booth of Roanoke and William Booth of Hedgesville, W.Va.; and his aunt and uncle, Ada Lee and Beverly Johnson of Lynchburg. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 1997, at 2 p.m. in the Fort Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum in Lynchburg with the Rev. Jeff Wilder, Chaplain, Central Virginia Training Center, officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until service time at the Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the American Association for Retarded Citizens, P.O. Box 6220, Roanoke, Va. Whitten Timberlake Chapel, Lynchburg, is in charge of arrangements.
