Wilms, 40, Dies Late Saturday In Fall Down Steps Funeral services for Walter Wilms, 40, will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Wayne Lutheran church. Rev. F. H. Kehren will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Wilms died of a fractured skull in a fall at his home on East Pine street in Anamosa late Saturday. He apparently fell backwards, down the basement steps, striking his head on the concrete foundation. Found By Wife. He was found shortly after 6 p.m. by his wife when she came home from visiting relatives. An autopsy performed by Dr. Regis Wieland, Cedar Rapids, set time of death at about 4 p.m. and the cause as a fractured skull rather than a broken neck as previously reported. Coroner Howard Campbell listed the cause of death as accidental and said that no inquest would be held In certifying the death as accidental, Coroner Campbell said that there was no induction at the scene of any foul play. Married In 1938 Walter E. Wilms was born May 22, 1914, in Castle Grove township, the son of Carl and Etta Lurkens Wilms. He attended the schools of Castle Grove township and married Edna Brokens at Wayne Lutheran church April 22, 1938. Couple had lived in Anamosa since where he was employed, at one time, at the Anamosa concrete products company. At the time of his death he worked at the Fruehauf trailer company, Cedar Rapids. Survivors Named Survivors include his wife, his mother, Mrs. Etta Wilms; a brother, Clarence, Monticello; five sisters, Mrs. Louise Rueter and Mrs., Clara Heeren, Monticello; Mrs. Dene Hagen, Scotch Grove; Mrs., Hannah Arhelger. Myersville, Tex.; Mrs. Grace Gerdes, Strawberry Point; two half sisters, Miss Katie Johnson, Anamosa; Mrs. Anna Haven, Monticello. His father, a half brother, and half sister preceded him in death. Pall bearers will be Eugene Cox, Gerald Conley, L. L. Albaugh, W. E. Taylor. John Koppenhaver and Vernon Woodward.
